Boo!

There was a poll on Facebook asking what type of cards do we prefer to make--Halloween or Christmas? I make and send out more Christmas cards but secretly,
I love making Halloween cards. You too?

When I saw Hero Arts' Envelope Liner Background stamp in its packaging, I thought
it would make an eerie looking background, perfect for Halloween and this month's challenge at Hero Arts.

I also loved Tami Hartley's card that she shared on the Hero Arts blog
and used it as inspiration.

I stamped both the Newspaper Skyline and the Envelope Liner Background in Wet Cement and ink distressed over it in several different colors of Distress inks.

Three bats were added and I dotted their eyes with a white pigment pen.
The fun sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by and have a spooktacular week!

CASual Fridays #71--Fall Fun

CASual Fridays #71 is Fall Fun--to create a clean and simple project
inspired by autumn. Here's my take on the challenge.

A (discontinued?) Memory Box tree was inked with Crushed Olive, Wild Honey,
and Tea Dye distress inks, spritzed with water then stamped on watercolor paper.
After it dried, I stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment and rounded off a corner. Done.

Living in Hawaii, we don't get to see the changing of the leaves in fall.
Our trees have either green leaves or brown leaves.

Case in point is this tree that I'm trying to keep for sentimental reasons but
our yardman declared it "half dead". He's determined to revive it with some TLC
and if he succeeds, then he'll be getting my card.

Just under the wire, I'll be squeezing this card into Moxie Fab World's
Design Handbook Repetition Challenge.
Have a fantastic week!

CASology #11--White

CASology's cue card this week is "white". Here's my take on the challenge.

I used Memory Box's Modern Landscape die and trimmed the piece to a sliver,
mounted it to a white card base and stamped the sentiment in gray.
Rounded off both corners and it's the fastest card I've made in a while.

Apologies for the poor photo. I always struggle with taking photos of white cards.
It doesn't help that the sun has been playing peek a boo all week.

Hope you have a sunny weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday Trigger--Envy Becomes You

Since it was a two-week Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World, I decided to play along.
That and my order of Zing embossing powder arrived and I was eager to see
how the green powder would look on a blue background.

Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle die, Paper Smooches greenery
and butterflies and sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I'm happy with how it turned out
and that I made the deadline, too. Love a two-week Trigger!

And with all of the heat embossing, I thought I'd throw my card
into Simon Says Stamp's Emboss It challenge!
