CFC76--Kraft On

CASual Fridays Challenge #76 is Kraft On--use kraft somewhere on your project. I love kraft. My favorite is recycled paper bag kraft which looks like, well, a paper bag. And I love how colors pop off of kraft, especially from colored pencils. Here's my card.

I used the circle border from Studio Calico's Spread Joy set and colored in some circles with different colors of Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches. I rounded off the corners and added a gemstone and my krafty submission was done.

I'm praying for the safety of our friends on the East Coast and hope that Hurricane Sandy passes quickly. Stay safe!

CAS(E) this SKETCH #2

Yes, I'm getting ready to leave in a few hours--three generations will be
flying to Sin City. But I had to enter my card in the second challenge for
CAS(E) this Sketch because the card was done. And I THINK it fits
the sketch. Kinda. Sorta. Here is Sketch #2.

And here's my card. I was going to enter this in the heart challenge at
CASual Fridays or the Simon Says Stamp die cut challenge, but did neither.
So I'm entering it for CTS  and I hope it fits the bill!

The tree die is by Memory Box and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

DT member Lisa Arana shares a great video on her blog on how she
approaches sketches. (And she has a free cut file to download!) After
watching it, I thought my card fit the sketch. Everything just dropped
a couple of inches...

Okay, this is my last post until I return next week. I'll be stalking your
blogs via my iPhone and try to take pics to share with you.
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon...

CFC74--Put Your ♥ Into It

CASual Fridays Challenge #74 is to use a heart on your project. Easy peasy.
I think we all own at least one heart stamp. The most difficult part
of the challenge is deciding which one(s) to use.

I decided to ink up four of Papertrey Ink's Heart 2 Heart mini hearts with four colors
of distress inks. I just stamped all four of them, not really worrying about
placement or how distressed they look, and I was pleased with the result.

My daughter doesn't like the distressed inking on the hearts. She said it
"doesn't look like hearts" but I think they do. Oh well...

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!
I'll be taking a little family vacation, so I'll see you when I return...

CAS(E) this Sketch!

Blogging friend Jackie Rockwell started a new challenge site called
CAS(E) this SKETCH--using sketches to create a clean and simple project.
Here is the inaugural sketch.

Pretty cool, huh? I usually struggle with sketches but this one seemed
pretty straightforward and friendly. Here's my take on the sketch.

I kept it pretty simple with Papertrey Ink hearts and distress inks.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASology#14--LEAF

This week's cue card at CASology is LEAF.
I reached for Paper Smooches' Reflections set and created this.

I was hoping it looks like mistletoe. Did I succeed? I had to Google what mistletoe looked like and stamped the sentiment in red for good measure.

Liquid Pearls were applied as berries and I rounded off one corner. Done!

Nifty little tip we learned from Jennifer McGuire on Liquid Pearls:  After dabbing out your dots that start out pointy, tap from underneath your card and the points will magically disappear and you'll have nice little rounded tops.

Thanks for stopping by!
