CAS(E) this Sketch 98

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 98 designed by former teammate Gayatri.

Here's my take on it--I rotated the sketch in portrait format.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut one of Shari's Trees and adhered it with
dimensional foam and tucked a piece of gold cardstock under it.
The sentiment is from a retired set from Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday.

I added a few creamy white enamel dots and some Glossy Accents to the ornaments.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, November 6th.

Guest Designer for Scrap Rendez Vous

Blogging friend Alexandra invited me to guest design over at Scrap Rendez Vous,
and I accepted the invitation. I was asked to create a sketch and a card based on the sketch.
Since my sketch was super simple, I created three cards. Here's a sneak peek.

Do you spot some Mama Elephant? I used the In My Heart stamp set and
coordinating Creative Cuts. Yay, me, for bustin' out my Copics!

Please visit Scrap Rendez Vous to see the sketch and full reveal of the cards.
I also share a pictorial of how I created the background.
Thank you Alexandra, for having me as a guest.
And thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 97

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 97 brought to you by teammate Sam.

And here's my take on it. I saw umbrellas.

I masked off a center panel and ink distressed with several shades of
Distress inks and splattered some water over it. Two umbrellas were die cut
and I inlaid two printed umbrellas in the spaces.

I could have just adhered the umbrellas over the middle panel,
but I wanted to stay true to the sketch. And inlaying keeps it a one layer card, too.
I added some Glossy Accent raindrops (ala Laurafadora) and the sentiment
is from Papertrey Ink.

Stop by CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s)

Golden Winter Wishes

I'm up on the Hero Arts blog today sharing a different way to use a stencil.
Here's a peek of my card.

Where in the World Am I?

Hello! I'm taking a two week blog break, on vacation at our favorite destination. Here's a hint.

Yes, it's the Tokyo Sky Tree, built in 2012. See the lights? They turn colors every night
from blue to purple and from red to green during Christmas.

It's been an experience so far-- battling a typhoon and praying it will quickly pass.
We're eating tons of good food and getting some crafty shopping done in the land
of washi tape and Copics.

I'll be back sometime next week. See you then and thanks for stopping by!

Tag You're It Challenge #8

Tag You're It Challenge #8 is brought to you by teammate Lisa.

And here's my take on her tag.

I stamped a diagonal stripe background and adhered some leaves from my scrap pile
and a couple of acorns from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment bubble is also from Lawn Fawn,
and I stuck a little puffy heart on it. The ribbon is seam binding dyed with distress inks.

Visit Tag You're It Challenge blog to see the winners of Challenge #7
and how the rest of the design team was inspired by Lisa's tag.
Come join the challenge if you can. Link up your tag(s) by
Wednesday, October 22nd.

CAS(E) this Sketch 96

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 96 brought to you by N@ Ali.

And here's my take on it.

I turned the sketch 90 degrees and finally inked up Papertrey Ink's Snowflake Flurries.
Don't ask me why I went with pink. I even threw in a bit of neon! Whaaaat??

And a heads up that Challenge 96 is a two weeker, so you have until
Thursday, October 23rd to link up your card(s).

Please be sure to stop by CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can!
Hope to see you in the gallery!
